Description of the Projects

The ESO Data Reduction Software Project consists of the following sub-projects:

A. Combining and stacking of imaging  / spectral data

• DR-01: Astrometric and photometric correction of dithered / jittered images
• DR-02: Stacking and mosaicing of dithered / jittered images
• DR-03: Stacking of dithered / jittered / "stared" spectra
• DR-04: Mosaicing of spectral-imaging data (3D cubes)

B. Modelling and correcting sky emission and absorption

• DR-05: Sky spectrum model for the VLT and E-ELT ETCs
• DR-06: Telluric absorption correction
• DR-07: Sky background correction in IR spectroscopy

C. Calibration issues for spectra and images

• DR-08: Fringe correction of spectra and images
• DR-09: Calibration of spectro-polarimetry data
• DR-10: Source extraction in 3D cubes
• DR-11: Pattern matching for 1D and 2D data sets (images and spectra)

The sub-projects A and C are carried out at the University of Vienna and sub-project B is in the responsability of the University of Innsbruck.
