Webpages of the ESO Data Reduction Software Project
Austria joined the European Southern Observatory (ESO) on July 1, 2008. As part of its entrance fee ressources were made available to evaluate and develop software modules for the analysis of astronomical data from ESO instruments within the frame of the ESO data reduction pipeline.
The topics of the ESO Data Reduction Project are:
- Combining and stacking of imaging/spectral data
- Modelling and correcting sky emission and absorption
- Calibration issues for astronomical spectra and images
The project is carried out in cooperation between the University of Vienna and the University of Innsbruck. Consortium partners are the Department of Astronomy at the University of Vienna, the Faculty of Mathematics represented by the Numerical Harmonic Analysis Group and the Institute of Astro- and Particle Physics at the University of Innsbruck.
Project Management:
- A.Univ.Prof. Dr. Hans G. Feichtinger
- A.Univ.Prof. Dr. Stefan Kimeswenger
- A.Univ.Prof. Dr. Werner W. Zeilinger (coordinator)
The project is supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research.
